Let it go.....
Yesterday my client asked me a question that "how one can sit with quiet mind while meditating?I have lots of thoughts n conversation going within my mind. Its never quiet. Does it happen with everyone"
I thought for a while and said, I have been doing mediation for quite sometime now and I am too jumbled with the thought every now n then. but I do on some occasion have quiet mind as I let go my burden, my baggage while meditating. I release the struggle, anger, unforgiveness , argument, judgement, hurt or anything else undesirable.
For having quiet mind either while meditating or in day to day life, it is very important to learn to " let go" things, emotions,feelings,blockages or the person which are holding us back.It is the bad memories of the past,bad feelings of present and fear of future that causes us so much pain that we forget to live in moment.
We are always surrounded by unconscious nagging of thoughts. We pull ourselves from family, friends and colleagues. We are always unknowingly sad or irritated, and the reason is that "we don't let go ". We don't let go of bad memories, bad feelings and uncertain sense of fear. You forget to be compassionate with yourself as you are not ready to let of your insecurities or the darkness.
I know, its not very easy to let it go all the time.You would become saint if you learn to do it every time, correct.... Nah....

Just start with letting simple things go, first of all let the person go who hurts you emotionally or mentally. Let the person go,because if you allow the person to hurt you once,the person will hurt you again again and again....and the hurting will lead to anger and this anger will hurt you more. Let the person go.....
Let the bad memories go, they just bring sadness. They keep nagging you. Let the hurt emotions and feelings go. Chuck out unimportant things from your life.you are carrying too many things in your mind. Throw the things from the past, just as we clear our wardrobes from time to time. Bundle unimportant people, feelings n thoughts and throw them away. Free your self from burden of your past. Let go of the past. Feel the freedom when you look at past.
The another thing which we can't let go is feeling about future. The fear or the uncertainty of future is also keeping you unhappy, so let it go too. You practically cannot do even if you know your future, so why worrying about it. "Let it go"... Just be in now....
Lots of people predict future....I can too and I must tell you that your future us definitely uncertain....people are afraid of future. Think of this moment ...have you ever thought in the past of exactly of where you are now.....you have not...so what's the point of nagging yourself with the thoughts n fear of future.
But this is also not easy ...right??....yes...
The next step in "let it go" is to stop complaining about everyone and everything. As, it won't get you anywhere. Let it go of all the thinking.... Negative and positive... Yes positive too...which is not needed right now.don't clutter your mind with over thinking. Keep one thing on your mind at a time.don't push yourself to the point of exhaustion. prioritize your activities. At one point I was doing everything... Writing book, preparing for festivities, kids dance n activities... I was so tired n jumbled up.but then I prioritize and things started moving smoothly. So don't push yourself... You need to do one thing at a time to remain focused n calm.
There is another way to "let go" of things is to change your attitude. Don't try to change others,change your attitude. Instead of getting angry,try to find solutions. Instead of expecting, give for nothing in return, don't like the job...don't stress it..just change your attitude, be compassionate with yourself n others.
Letting go and releasing the unwanted thoughts, feelings, fear,and uncertainty will definitely lead you to calm n compassionate mind n body.it's not only important in achieving the zen state of meditation but also in achieving the balance of mind and body.
